Is now the time to extend rather than move house?

According to the House Price index by Nationwide, house values are falling and most commentators are predicting that it will continue in 2023. That means it may be more difficult to sell your existing home and trade up (or down).
At the same time construction output is forecast to fall in 2023 and that will lead to small builders becoming more readily available for home alterations and extensions.
So perhaps now is the right time to see how you can alter and extend your existing house to meet your lifestyle aspirations. Take a look at our guide How To Design The Perfect Extension and see how you might go about it.
We have also been able to gain planning consent to extend listed buildings too and if you own one, take a look at our Top Tips To Design Your Listed Building Extension. One of our current designs is featured in this blog post.
So how do you make sure you get the space you need?
We often say to clients “don’t tell us what design you want, tell us how you want to live”. Explain your lifestyle to us and we will come up with designs that respond to that, many of which you may never have thought or even dreamt of.
We can improve your home with one of our extension designs. We create spacious, bright environments that are perfect for family life and include lots of natural light as well as direct connections to the garden! Unique features such as storage walls and vaulted ceilings make the best use of your living space.
We know what it takes - both financially (because everyone wants their budget considered) AND emotionally so they can recover afterwards if necessary after having invested heavily into new construction
