OK its not strictly speaking an island but the "Isle of Oxney" is a very ancient part of Kent and the old buildings that survive, many of them listed, have important heritage to preserve.
We have just applied for permission to add a contemporary extension to a farmhouse in the 'Isle of Oxney". The new part is set a few steps down from the existing ground floor to follow the land contours and is connected by a glass link. The simple extension design has lots of glazing and a south facing deck to the garden.
